Join a Park Ranger for a fun introduction of the ecology of Crystal Cove State Park in our weekly Junior Ranger programs. This children's nature program is a favorite in State Parks and allows visitors ages 7-12 to earn a badge. Junior Rangers meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8/3 (Slithering Snakes),) 8/5 (Beautiful Birds,) 8/10 (Super Cool Sharks,) 8/19 (Nocturnal Animals), 8/24 (Backcountry Predators)8/26 (Bones,) from 9-10am. Meet at Pelican Point lot#4 (newport Coast entrance, left at kiosk to the end.) $15 day-use parking fee

Summer is a wonderful time to learn about our local nature. Join a park naturalist on an easy 3 mile long walk along the coastline at Crystal Cove State Park to learn about plants, birds, and intertidal organisms, on Wednesday, August 4 & August 25 at 10:00am. Meet at Los Trancos parking lot at the trailer (PCH turn inland at stoplight 'Los Trancos') $15 day-use parking fee

Crystal Cove Alliance is hosting the Great Plein Air Art Experience on Wednesday August 4 from 9am-2pm. Preregistration required- or 949-376-6200. Spend a relaxing day capturing the beauty of Crystal Cove on canvas! Experience what it was like to be a plein air artist in Crystal Cove during tge heyday if the movement in the 1920's.

Join a state park volunteer for a guided 3-5 mile backcountry hike on Sunday, August 8, Saturday, August 21, or Saturday, August 28 at 8am. El Moro Visitor Center (PCH inland at stoplight School-State Park.)

Enjoy a guided tidepool walk at Pelican Point on Saturday, August 14 at 8am. A volunteer will help identify animals and describe some awesome adaptions. Meet at Pelican Point parking lot #2, near the parking lot (PCH turn coastward at Newport Coast, right at the kiosk and left into tge first lot.)

Take a walk through the renovated 12 acre Historic District at Crystal Cove State Park on Saturday, August 14 at 10am. Learn about the colorful past of the Cove and hear about the different uses for each cottage. Meet at Los Trancos at the trailer (PCH turn inland at stoplight Los Trancos.)
