Volunteer Opportunities

Crystal Cove State Parks is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers and docents for the Historic District Visitor's Center, back country hikes and cycle trips.

DOCENT/VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Crystal Cove State Park has many docents and volunteers who comprise our Volunteers In Parks program.

  • There are four volunteer programs sponsored by the park.
    1. Trained docents lead hikes, walks, and talks including backcountry hikes, beach walks, tidepool talks, gray whale programs, geology walks and full moon bike rides.
    2. Volunteers help staff either the El Moro Visitor Center in the inland side of if the park or the Historic District Visitor Centor in the Park Store,
    3. Mountain Bikers, trail assistants help patrol the backcountry and assist park visitors with information, offer directions, route recommendations, and provide emergency bike repair and communications.
    4. Finally, our Tidepool Creature Teachers offer educational information, assist park visitors in identifying intertidal organisms, and gently remind visitors of the rules about the fragile
    habitat.

  •  Crystal Cove Interpretive Association consists of a group of dedicated volunteers who raise funds to support the interpretive program, offer quarterly speaker meetings, produce a newsletter, and staff our El Moro Visitor Center.
